'Catfish' Sneak Peek: Nick and Melissa Take a Shot at Love Six Years After Meeting on Tila Tequila Fan Site

MTV’s reality dating show, “Catfish,” follows Nick and Melissa this week. Nick and Melissa met on a Tila Tequila fan site when they were 12 years old. Six years later and they think they have a “Shot at Love,” just like Tila Tequila had when she had her own reality show.

“Catfish: The TV Show” is MTV’s reality show about the truths and lies of online dating. It is hosted by Nev Schulman and is based on the 2010 film “Catfish.”

MTV’s “Catfish” helps couples who have never met in real life and determines whether they are the real thing or just a "catfish." A "catfish" someone who makes fake personal profiles on social media sites to look more interesting than their real life persona. It comes from the term "catfish," which means tricking someone to fall in love with you.

Nick and Melissa have kept in close contact in the six years since they met on the Tila Tequila site. Nick is convinced that Melissa is the one for him. But Melissa is now living with her new boyfriend, Olin.
Melissa has been with Olin for about a year, but Nick is sure that he and Melissa were meant for each other. Nick might have a point. It seems that Melissa is only staying with Olin because she’s got nowhere else to go.

Nick says "She's the first girl I ever opened up to. I love her so much."

Meanwhile Tila Tequila has been moving on from her Reality TV past. Tila Tequila recently started her own social media site after Facebook frustrations.

Tila Tequila has also moved into the guru business. Her Linked In profile lists, besides her entertainment skills, 7th Initiative Ascended Master, Enlightened and illuminated being of the light, DNA activations, Pyschic Abilities, Activated DNA, Kundalini, Remote Viewing, Telepathy, and Mystery School initiate on her online resume.

Myspace phenomenon and MTV reality star Tila Tequila starred in this summer's indie-action film “Masterminds.” Tila Tequila’s new movie was directed by David "Cowboy" Keary, who also made the gritty inner city film, "MoneyMakers" in 2010 and stars Nick Hogan, Hulk Hogan’s son. Previously, Tila appeared in the films "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" in 2007 and "Brass Knuckles" in 2011. But she’s best-known for her reality TV dating competition series “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila” and her role on the William Shatner network comedy, “$#!T My Dad Says.”

Most recent reports about Tila have focused on her ongoing efforts to expose the Illuminati, a behind-the-scenes powerhouse that is reputed to be a satanic cabal that controls the world. Her efforts have been linked to a near-fatal brain aneurism she suffered last year.
