J.J. Abrams Fuels Benedict Cumberbatch Star Wars Rumors: Wikileaks Calls The Fifth Estate 'Irresponsible, Counterproductive, And Harmful'

Benedict Cumberbatch may be done with "Sherlock" season 3, but the actor is quickly moving on to other film projects, including potentially the next "Star Wars" film.

The rumor of Benedict Cumberbatch being cast in the next J.J. Abrams project has ran rampant on the Internet, and Abrams is certainly not helping things after a recent interview about the rumor.

During an interview with the LA Times, when questioned about Cumberbatch in the "Star Wars" sequel.

"I love that guy." End quote.

"We're working our asses off trying to get things in place with casting," says Abrams according to Yvonne Villarreal on Twitter.

As fans may know, Benedict Cumberbatch recently dropped out of  the Guillermo del Toro movie "Crimson Peak," and some are theorizing that it could very well be for "Star Wars."

"I don't know. Who knows, who knows? Nothing is known of that. I worked with JJ [Abrams]. Obviously he knows. Everyone who wants to be part of that film, they know about," says Cumberbatch regarding the rumor.

But "Star Wars" is not the only film he is getting attention for. In addition to "12 Years a Slave" and "August: Osage County," the film "The Fifth Estate" has been criticized by none other than Julian Assange's organization WikiLeaks itself.

According to EntertainmentWise, not only has WikiLeaks uploaded the script onto their website, but has called the film "irresponsible, counterproductive and harmful" and "a work of fiction masquerading as fact."

When asked whether Julian Assange would enjoy the film, Benedict Cumberbatch guessed rightfully correct that the reception would be less than pleasant.

"I'm not a betting man, but I reckon he won't particularly want to support the film."
