‘Warcraft’ Movie Rumors, Colin Farrell, Paula Patton Considered For Cast; Irish Actor Refused Batman Role

The "Warcraft" movie will push through. There are rumors about the casting, and a strong one involves Colin Farrell for the lead role. Paula Patton is also another name considered. Meanwhile, Colin Farrell also revealed that his name floated around for the Batman role, but he would not have taken it.

Legendary Pictures will team up with Atlas Entertainment to produce the film "Warcraft" which is the movie adaptation of the hit video game "World of Warcraft" by Blizzard. The director will be Duncan Jones, and filming of the project will commence in January.

The casting rumors have surfaced and pressed for the lead roles are Colin Farrell and Paula Patton.  Patton was part of the blockbuster action movie "Mission Impossible:Ghost Protocol." Her most recent appearance was in "2 Guns" an action comedy with Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. Patton is already in the negotiation stage, but it's a different story for Colin Farrell.

The Irish pretty boy is still 50/50 for the project. Legendary is still testing out other actors and the lead role is pretty much up for grabs. Farrell is not thoroughly experienced to play in action epics, as his only prior stint was with the historical epic "Alexander." He also starred opposite Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner in the much maligned "Daredevil" movie.

Super hero movies seemed to leave a bitter taste in Farrell's mouth.  In an interview with IGN, Colin Farrell confirmed that he was considered for the Batman role but no offer was made. However, he wasn't so interested. He explains his reasons: "I thought Christian (Bale) did a brilliant job and it was one of the best trilogies. I don't know if I'm brave enough or care enough to walk into the lion's den of being compared to Christian.  I think life is too short for me to worry that."
