While we have confirmed Electro and Rhino as villains for "The Amazing Spiderman 2," there are actually more to come. Also, the reboot sequel's screenwriter addresses major questions about the franchise.

"The Amazing Spiderman 2" is set for a May 2014 release. It will pick up where it left off in the first movie, which was a reboot of the wallcrawler's movie franchise. This time, Spiderman is in high school played by Andrew Garfield, and his muse, Mary Jane Watson played by Emma Stone.

The movie will also star Jamie Foxx as the villain Electro and Paul Giamatti as Rhino. While these are the confimred villains, intriguing roles abound, like Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborn and Chris Cooper's Norman Osborn. One of this father-son pair will assume the hate mask of the Green Goblin. There is also Felicity Jones, who hints at further character development:  "It's all quite shrouded in secrecy, but I'm the Goblin's girlfriend - I'm in a relationship with him, and his accomplice. I'm on the dark side."

Alex Kurtzman, the movie's scriptwriter had an interview with I Am Rogue, and he talks about the plot development and the excess of Spidey's adversaries: It's interesting because the first movie asks all these questions and what I loved about it in so many ways is that it didn't answer them. Part of what we were drawn to and intrigued by was wanting to know the answers to a lot of those questions.The villains emerge from a lot of unanswered questions at the end of that movie and none of them are random at all, they are all tied together by a theme, an idea, and I think they come from our curiosity about what was going on in the life of Peter Parker and his parents."

Indeed, the first movie did leave a lot of questions, as it explored the angle of Peter Parker's parents in a way that the former movie trilogy had never done. This separates the reboot from being tagged as a prequel, and immerses us into an entirely new reality.
