Valve Half-Life 3 Trademark A Hoax, Jira Project Manager Leaker Still A Possibility: Steam Machines Compared To High End PCs

As much as fans want the Valve game Half-Life 3 to be confirmed, the recent European trademark filing has turned out to be a hoax.

As reported by WebProNews, a recent search through the EU trademark site has shown that the Half-Life 3 trademark has disappeared.

Although this doesn't necessarily point to an intentional hoax, it does mean that Half-Life 3 has less light at the end of the tunnel as far as a confirmation.

While it possible that the trademark is nothing but a hoax, the other evidence pointing to Half-Life 3 being in development at Valve remains very much in circulation, and so far, no signs of being a hoax.

Reportedly, someone has hacked into a Valve software called Valve User Picker, which is used for project management and bug tracking. Through User Picker, Valve employees are split into development teams.

Through this hack, it has been confirmed that two Half-Life 3 teams are currently at work on the sequel, one called Half-Life 3 Core and the other simply Half-Life 3.

In total, there are 47 employees working on Half-Life 3 between the two teams, including Adam Foster, a name fans recognize as the producer of the Minerva mod for Half-Life 2.

Although this is still not an official confirmation, it is by far the closest we've come in terms of Half-Life 3.

Meanwhile, the specs for the Valve Machines have been released, and it's caused some worry amongst gaming fans.

The spec are:

GPU: some units with NVidia Titan, some GTX780, some GTX760, and some GTX660
CPU: some boxes with Intel i7-4770, some i5-4570, and some i3
RAM: 16GB DDR3-1600 (CPU), 3GB GDDR5 (GPU)
Storage: 1TB/8GB Hybrid SSHD
Power Supply: Internal 450w 80Plus Gold
Dimensions: approx. 12 x 12.4 x 2.9 in high

While the specs are better than PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it could also mean that the price will be exorbitantly higher.
