Brandon Moss, Josh Reddick and Seth Smith homered off Anibal Sanchez, who allowed an AL-best 0.45 homers per nine innings during the regular season.

"We're going to strike out and we're going to hit the long ball, so once we get those going, it's going to be a good day," Reddick told the Athletics' official website. "And to do it against a guy like Sanchez, who's been great all year, it does a lot for your confidence coming into (Tuesday)."

On Tuesday, the A's will battle against Fister, who had stingy numbers against Oakland before the A's hammered him for seven runs and 13 hits over five innings at Comerica Park in August. In last year's postseason, Fistrer went winless despite 19 1/3 innings of three-run ball.

Straily led all American League rookies in wins (10), starts (27), strikeouts (124) and innings (152 1/3) in 2013. The right-hander has allowed three hits or fewer while tossing at least five innings in four of his last five starts.

Max Scherzer could be available out of the bullpen in Game 4 of the ALDS against the Athletics on Tuesday with it being do-or-die for Detroit.
