Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder broke up this summer, but that doesn't mean they don't still hang out. Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder reunited last night to witness Ian Somerhalder's dog giving birth, and Nina Dobrev posted a picture on Twitter mentioning her ex boyfriend.

Nina Dobrev took to her Twitter to tweet about the birth of Ian Somerhalder's dog's puppies: "Birthing little Nietzsches ...Such a beautiful + equally terrifying thing to witness...The miracle of life :) #Wow."

Nina tagged Ian Somerhalder in her post, and also posted a picture of Ian's dog, Nietzsche, and her new puppies, Entertainmentwise reports.

However, in Ian's posts about Nietzsche, he didn't mention Nina, but instead focused on the dog. He posted a picture of Nietzsche on his Twitter, with the caption: "She's in Labor! Aunt @thejram (aka midwife) & Uncle @polivierjr our little Nietzsche girl is about to drop a ton of love into the world.World please send super-positive energy to this very brave and very scared little girl."

It comes as no surprise that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are on good terms - they work together regularly, as stars on the CW show "The Vampire Diaries." However, it is quite surprising that the exes would spend so much time off the set together, especially during a time that is as personal as Ian's dog giving birth.

According to Wetpaint, Ian later also snapped a cute selfie looking at Nietz, writing, "Live from the whelping box In Atlanta! Panting, pushing, contractions - wow. Make no mistake about it - Ladies rule...Women of every species blow my mind...Incredible what mamas go through! Love to you mamas-all over the world. Jeez."

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder broke up in May 2013, Wetpaint reports, after three years of dating. They currently play lovers on "The Vampire Diaries."
