iPad 5 Release Date Set On October 22nd, iPad mini 2, Retina MacBook Pro And New OS Version Expected To Be Announced

Since the new iPhones were announced, there has already been rumors that Apple is preparing for another event to release the new iPads. Now, several tech sites have confirmed from their sources that the iPad release date is on the 22nd of October.

Does the date sound familar? It should. That's because it's the same date as the Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi.

We still don't know whether Apple has already set the date long ago, or it is directly competing with a Finnish manufacturer that is prepping for a glorious exit from the industry.

According to AllThingsD as well as The Loop, their sources have confirmed that the next Apple event will be set on the 22nd.

The report said the Retina iPad 5 will lead the pack of new devices from Apple, followed by the most awaited iPad mini 2. However, the report says it will not sport the Retina display the company is known for. In case this tip is accurate, we will see a lot of disappointed Apple fans.

Apple is also expected to announce a new MacBook Pro laptop, now with Retina display and boasting Intel's new Haswell chips for longer battery life.

A new OS X version, 10.9 Mavericks, might also be launched on the same date, and may become available on the App Store during the event.
