Like mother, like daughter!

Tish Cyrus was caught taking a selfie with Miley on her smartphone on Monday at the Today plaza in New York City. In the selfie, Tish is sticking her tongue out, just like Miley.

So that's where she gets it from!

Miley spoke with Matt Lauer about her mom Tish and dad Billy Ray Cyrus, saying she trusts her parents and they trust her.

 "My parents have always just been about being really who you are and figuring that out. What's good about that is, I trust them a lot."

Miley also spoke with Matt Lauer about openness in parenting, saying,  "I can go to them about pretty much anything. A lot of kids have to hide things from their parents and I don't have to because my parents are just accepting."

"That's what real love is," she continued. "It's unconditional, and unconditional means that it doesn't depend on what you're doing. That means they love you no matter what, and that's what parents are supposed to do."

Tish spoke about her daughter's critics in an MTV documentary entitled Miley Cyrus: The Movement. "Anyone that's ever said, 'Where's her mother?' " she said, then answered, "Right beside her-through good, through bad, through arguments, through crying, through I don't care what-right there."

And for now, things are going well for her daughter. Despite-or maybe because of-- controversey over the VMAs, a broken engagement, and feuds with celebs like Sinead O'Connor, Miley is toppping charts. Her album Bangerz officially released at midnight on Tuesday, Oct. 8 and quickly rose to no. 1 on iTunes. "OMG OMG OMG #bangerz is #1," Miley tweeted. "I love you all so F--KING much! I wanna squeeze everyone of you."

She's at least squeezing her mom tight, which counts for something.
