It's been a see-saw matchup with the Tigers vs A's in the ALDS. Detroit grabbed the 1-0 lead, then Oakland took a 2-1 lead and the Tigers used their offense to tie the series up going into Thursday's finale. Watch the free live stream online to see who takes the finale as the Red Sox await the winner.

The pitching matchup for game 5 is a wild one as it pits Justin Verlander for the Tigers vs Sonny Gray for the A's. Watch the free live stream online of the former AL MVP and Cy Young award-winner who is arguably one of the best pitchers of his era faceoff against the rookie in Oakland.

"Sonny has one of the best curveballs I've seen in a while," veteran Torii Hunter, who expressed his distaste in the batter's box of one of Gray's up-and-in fastballs that sent him reeling in Game 2 told MLB.com

Gray, who posted a 5-3 record and 2.67 ERA in 14 games (12 starts) during the regular season, pitched eight shutout innings in Game 2 last Saturday.

In three postseason starts against the A's the past two seasons, Verlander has yielded one run in 23 innings, according to MLB.com. The lone-run was a leadoff homer by Coco Crisp in Game 1 of the 2012 ALDS, which was won by the Tigers in Detroit. This time, he goes on the road for a team looking to get one step closer to the World Series.

"The hardest thing to do in sports is hit a baseball," Crisp told MLB.com. "Verlander is a tough pitcher; their whole pitching staff is a great staff. He is who he is. We've got to go out and beat him. We're a one-through-nine lineup. We need everybody to chip in in a collective effort. If we swing at our pitches, I think we'll have a good chance to beat them."

A's shortstop Jed Lowrie, hitless through three games, busted out in Game 4 with a homer, single and three RBIs that Oakland may need tonight against the power-pitching of Verlander.

"I think the strength of our offense all year has been to trust everybody up and down the lineup and not try to do too much," Lowrie said. "That's the easiest way to get to a guy like Verlander. ... Get guys on base and get him to throw those stress innings and pitches, where he's not able to cruise through innings."
