Kendrick Perkins Arrested For Punching A Woman: Thunder Forward Bailed Thursday On $1,000 Bond For Allegedly Slugging Man And Woman Following Car Accident

Kendrick Perkins arrested for punching a woman: The Oklahoma Thunder's forward was arrested Thursday for an alleged incident that took place in July outside a nightclub in Houston.

KHOU.com reported that both Kendrick Perkins and his brother-in-law have been charged for allegedly punching a woman after the case was re-filed after being dismissed initially, and that Perkins posted a $1,000 bond on Thursday.

According to the report from the woman, said that Kendrick Perkins puncher her outside NOX.

"Miketta Cotton told police she and her brother were leaving the club when their car and another vehicle 'backed into each other.' Cotton said she got out to talk with the male driver. She said a female passenger suddenly jumped out of the car, pulled her hair back and began taking off her jewelry like she was ready to fight.

Cotton said she calmed the woman down, but then Alpough got out of the car and pushed her stating, 'That's my cousin!'

When Ja'Keenan Cotton saw his sister being pushed, he got out of the car to check on her. He told police Perkins, a passenger in the other car, punched him in the head, causing him to fall to the ground. Cotton said Perkins then punched her in the face with a closed fist, causing her to fall down," according to the report.

Thunder GM Sam Presti issued a statement in response to the allegations.

"We were made aware of the allegations and take this matter seriously," Presti said, according to DailyThunder.com. "We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time."

The 27-year-old former first-round pick and then played for the Boston Celtics until he was traded to the Thunder and has been there since 2011.

His assault charge is being considered a misdemeanor.
