Sony Xperia Z1 Mini May Not Reach US Market As Sony Prioritizes Japanese And European Markets

Earlier this year, Japanese manufacturer Sony released the Xperia Z, its first handset with a full HD resolution. However, it took the phone over four months before hitting the US market via its sole partner T-Mobile. Now, the company's CEO confirms that there are not focusing on the US market at the moment.

In a speech by Sony CEO Kaz Hirai yesterday, he mentioned that the company will be focusing on the Japanese and European markets which account for about 60 percent of its income in the smartphone industry.

"Our biggest priority is maintaining our share in Japan or increasing it ... But getting into the U.S. market requires a lot of resources and marketing, so we have to go one step at a time."

Yes, you heard it right, as of the moment, most of Sony's stunning Android phones including the gorgeous and compact Xperia Z1 mini may not even reach US shores.

On the bright side, a leaked image from notorious leakster EV Leaks showed that the company's Xperia Z1 will allegedly be available on T-Mobile. But considering the fact that no further details have been mentioned, we should probably take it with more than a pinch of salt.

Meanwhile, you can get the unlocked version of Xperia Z1 (no LTE) in some retailers in the US for about $730.
