Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) PC Release Date First Quarter 2014 (Possibly); Rockstar Will Follow GTA 4 Timeline

While Rockstar has yet to confirm, reports have tagged the release date of the Grand Theft Auto V PC version sometime during the first quarter 2014.

Eurogamer has quoted multiple industry resources that Rockstar will follow the timeline of the GTA 4. As they state on their website:   "The release plan mirrors that used for Grand Theft Auto 4, which released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 29th April 2008 before launching on PC in December 2008."

The fiasco involving Chris Everden(senior director of NVIDIA)  mentioning GTA V is still a basis that the game creator will not abandon the PC platform. As quoted: "[PC] gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Assassin's Creed 4."

It can be recalled that "Nvidia does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error."

"The only versions of the game that we have announced are for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 which are set for a September 17th worldwide release. We don't have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now."

PC Gamers brought their case to Change.org for an online petition to bring the game to the PC platform. What should be noted is that all of Rockstar and Nvidia's categorical statements have "as of now" clauses. It is highly unlikely that Rockstar will abandon the PC platform. The time gap is just a stage of development.
