Nexus 5 Release Date: New Google Phone Showcases Design, Android 4.4 Kit Kat In 7-Minute Clip

A few weeks ago, reports said that the Nexus 5 release date would be later this month, but a report from CNet UK claims that Google is planning to release it ahead of Apple and Nokia's October 22nd event. The tentative release date - October 15.

Now, it seems the rumor may be closer to the truth than what we have guessed as a full-length hands-on video of the Nexus 5 was leaked by Smartphones.sfr.fr

According to the clip, the new Nexus phone will sport two speakers, each placed on either side of the microUSB port.

Of course, it's not just the Nexus 5 that would be getting the attention, but also Google's newest Android 4.4 update, a.k.a. KitKat.

However, Android Authority points out that the Android version build may be a little outdated (the version says Key Lime Pie) as it is missing a few key features which we have already seen in previous leaks. The transparent notification bar, white icons, and the new Google Photos app are all missing in the video.

Still, the seven-minute clip clearly brings as almost the entire design of the new Nexus 5.

Here's the clip.
