Adrian Peterson's Son Dies From Injuries After Alleged Abuse, But NFL MVP Will Still Play Today [VIDEO]; "God Wants Good To Come From It" As Mother's Boyfriend Is Charged With Assault, Battery

Adrian Peterson's son recently died after injuries from alleged abuse, but despite the tragedy the NFL MVP and Minnesota Vikings running back will play in the game today against the Carolina Panthers.
Adrian Peterson's son was found unresponsive after his mother's boyfriend called emergency servies.  The child had injuries consistent with abuse.  Joseph Robert Patterson has been charged with aggravated battery of an infant and aggravated assault. If convicted on the charges, both felonies, Patterson could face up to 40 years in prison and an $80,000 fine.  The child's mother was not home at the time and has not been charged with any crime.
Despite dealing with the loss of his son, Adrian Peterson is determined to play today, saying: "My brother passed the night before the combine and I decided to go through with it. The same reason why I will play this week. You may ask why? God wants good to come from it ... We mourn and grieve but heaven had the baddest welcoming party for my son. That knowledge gives me peace. I'm still hurt and feel the pain of life, but I'm able to function because of the peace and joy of knowing my loved ones are in a much better place."
