Lijana Wallenda And Nik Wallenda Finish Dual High Wire Walk 150 Feet Above Charlotte Motor Speedway

Lijana Wallenda and Nik Wallenda successfully finished a dual walk way above the heads of spectators at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

This was the first time Lijana Wallenda did the high wire act at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Lijana Wallenda and her brother, Nik Wallenda walked across a 460-foot wire together 150 feet above the Charlotte Motor Speedway race track on Saturday night. Lijana Wallenda and her brother started on opposite ends of the wire, when they crossed at the center of the wire, Lijana  Wallenda crouched on one leg and Nik eased over the top of her.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway has had issues with cables before. In May, Fox TV cable wires that were holding cameras fell on the track damaging cars during the last Sprint Cup race.

This was the second straight year that Nick Wallenda performed at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It is the first time he perfrormed with his sister Lijana Wallenda.  Nik Wallenda said "It was exciting to perform together again. We don't perform like this very often. We've never performed this high and this far apart before and this was the first time in many, many years. It's always exciting to perform in front of race fans, for one, because they're such an outgoing audience. And to have them so quiet while we perform -- there's a lot of respect there."

Nik Wallenda earned worldwide attention when he crossed the Little Colorado River Gorge and Niagara Falls.

Lijana Wallenda and Nik Wallenda are part of the The World Famous Wallenda Troupe. The troupe performs stunts and highwire entertainment from daredevil acts to theatrical entertainment. Their father, Rick Wallenda is a Guinness Book of World Record holder.
