"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" PS4 release date is already set.

According to Marvel and Activision, during the New York Comic Con, held on October 12, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" PS4 release date will be slated for May 2014, coinciding with the arrival of the forthcoming movie.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" game is a "sequel to last year's movie tie-in title," as posted by Gamespot. Aside from the PlayStation 4 version, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is also currently being developed for another next-generation game console, the Microsoft Xbox One. Furthermore, it will also be available for the current-gen gaming platforms such as the Xbox 3, PS3, Nintendo Wi U, Nintendo 3DS and PC.

Beenox is the game studio developing "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", a third-person action game which will provide an "alternative take on the events of the upcoming film." The studio promises that the gameplay will include improved free-roaming slinging in a "greatly expanded" New York City.

Activision shared that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will put a bigger emphasis on Peter Parker, who "investigates the complicated motivations and unique personalities behind the menagerie of Marvel menaces threatening Manhattan."

Revealing more info regarding The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Thomas Wilson, co-head of Beenox studio said, "We're giving gamers more abilities, more upgrades, more challenges, and more freedom to progress."

He added, "And with the game launching alongside the new movie, offering an expanded interactive experience beyond the film, fans of the franchise won't want to miss playing it."

As posted on PSU, it has been confirmed by Beenox that in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" PS4, there will be a new Hero or Menace system, which has "consequences based on your actions and rewards players for certain behavior." There will also be some brand new enemies who will fight alongside familiar characters. Moreover, the post reads, "The narrative won't be lifted directly from the film, but the plot will offer an alternative take on events."

Expect more news to emerge about the arrival of the action game prior to "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" PS4 release date already set for May of next year.
