The newest star of 'Homeland', Nazanin Boniadi, has revealed that once underwent a secret audition to become famed Scientologist Tom Cruise's wife.  The 31-year-old actress, who plays a CIA analyst in the news series, was one of the many women who have been screened by the Church of Scientology to become Cruise's partner.

According to the Iranian-British star, the church favored her because of her petite frame as well as her medical degree. Boniadi had a brief relationship with the 'Top Gun' actor but was later dumped when he opted to be with Nicole Kidman.  

According to an expose in Vanity Fair, Boniadi was mandated to undergo a month-long preparation. She had to divulge personal details about her sexuality for the church would immediately reject someone who had been in a threesome.

She was similarly asked to alter her personal appearance including the removal of her red highlights and braces. The most difficult part for her was dumping her current boyfriend. While her mother knew about her blooming relationship with Cruise, the elder Boniadi was asked to sign a confidentiality agreement.

After her split with Cruise, Boniadi was sent to a Scientology bootcamp in Florida. "Boniadi's punishment was to scrub toilets with a toothbrush, clean bathroom tiles with acid, and dig ditches in the middle of the night," claimed by insiders.

Bonladi eventually left the Church of Scientology and even helped in the creation of an anti-Scientology rap which was released on YouTube.

Church of Scientology spokeswoman Karin Pouw renounced Boniadi's claims: "We stand by the statement we issued last year: there was no project, secret or otherwise, ever conducted by the Church to find a bride [via audition or otherwise] for any member."
