Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date: Flagship Handset Expected To Be Available February 2014, Specs Include Metal Exterior, Fingerprint Scanner And 16 MP OIS Camera

Samsung Galaxy S5 release date will come around February next year, although according to a Korean publication, the new device could be released as early as January 2014. The timing for the supposed Samsung Galaxy S5 announcement date coincides with the Mobile World Congress 2014 event.

It is being reported that the new flagship will have a metal exterior, a fingerprint scanner and a 16 MP camera with optical image stabilization. It will also have a 64-bit Exynos processor.

In a report by Phone Arena, it noted that a Korean publication run by former Samsung employees divulged that the South Korean tech giant has held meetings with the intent of movig forward the Samsung Galaxy S5 release.

The rush to speed up the launch of the future flagship is because of sagging sales of Samsung Galaxy S4. PhoneArena reported that Samsung has decreased the product life cycle from eleven months to nine months, an information that the tech blog said has been confirmed by at least two Korean publications.

Most of the reports on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 have been consistent, particularly on the timeline. However, it’s how all of it will come together to make what could be Samsung’s next greatest flagship that will determine if it will be able to make a dent in the marketplace.

The competition amongst smartphones has never been this fierce, with the upcoming launch of the Nexus 5, the availability of the new iPhone 5S and iPhone C, LG G 2 plus Sony and Nokia phones, Samsung is determined to make maintain their position in the market place.
