Nokia Lumia 1520 rumors: The Microsoft-owned company is rumored to be releasing up to six new devices this coming October 22 at a special event. The device will be under the Lumia brand and is Nokia’s all-out assault in gaining much coveted market share in this segment. According to Inferse, the launch schedule of the company seems odd since the recently launched Nokia 1020 is only four months old.

Design. As presumed by Inferse.com, Nokia will be keeping its product line’s trademarked design since there hasn’t any major hardware integration seen on the Lumias; although this shouldn’t be mistaken as the device’s downfall. The Nokia Lumia 1520, just like its predecessors (the Lumia 920, 900, 800, 1020 and N9), will showcase signature colored unibody polycarbonate shell along with its matte and glossy finishes.

It was reportedly suggested by purported images that 1520 will share 920’s striking resemblance and will be heavier than 1020. It was actually due to the embedded gigantic 41MPix sensor on the back that attributed 1020’s substantial weight. It was said that the 1520 is going to be the first device to have the screen and dimensions of a tablet featured which is considerably huge compared to 5.5” LG Optimus G Pro (150.2x76.1x9.4mm).

Software and specifications. Besides Lumia’s camera features, it isn’t actually known for its spec sheet. The 1020 is powerful enough for Windows Phone, an OS without intensive system requirements, through its featured dual-core chip clocked at 1.2GHz. On the flip side however, the 1520 features Qualcomm’s latest gen and most powerful chip that comes with four cores clocked at 2.3GHz –the Snapdragon 800. An increase in graphic performance of up to 50% and Support for advanced graphic and compute APIs are what’s promoted with the updated Adreno 330 GPU. It actually as well includes FlexRender, Renderscript Compute, OpenCL, DirectX and OpenGL ES 3.0. A memory of at least 2GB is rumored to be bumped up in 1520, with all hopes that potential 3GB RAM is as well maintained. The upcoming device is expected to have non-expandable 32GB internal storage.

With PureView technology, the phone features a camera that shoots at 21MPix according to the chip’s specs –and with the inclusion of Dual Image Processors and stereoscopic 3D for simultaneous camera/video experience. One more thing that can be expected is the ultra HD – 4K – video capturing.

1520 is expected to less likely run at 2560x2048 (the resolution that the Snapdragon 800 is compatible with). It also features 6-inch screen size thus will be the first of the line up surpassing the 5” size for a screen with a 4,000 mAh battery.

For a super speedy transferring of files, the device comes with a USB 3.0 import in addition to the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G LTE features.

1520 can now fit three tiles per row since its start screen will have an extra live tile column, which actually is the noted difference from the Windows Phone.

Availability and Pricing. October 22 is the scheduled date for the announcement of the king of Windows Phone and the 11th of November will be its launching. Its off contract price will be at $649 (around 580-600 euros). Since it will be under AT&T’s network with a two year contract and a price of $199, there is nothing much that can be discussed for its on-contract price.
