Samsung Galaxy S3 Update: Official Android 4.3 Update For Device Is Weeks Away, French Carrier Confirmed Rollout By November/December

Samsung Galaxy S3 update: The elusive upgrade to device owners, who has been frustrated with the cancellation of the Android 4.2.2 and seemingly and impatiently waiting for the Android 4.3 would well be informed that the Android 4.3 update is inching closer and closer.

Gotta Be Mobile reports that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update has been pegged for a release within the month of November and tech blog, SamMobile has also confirmed that the updates would arrive around that time. In a document obtained by Android Community, French carrier SFR noted in its rollout schedule Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to made available to its user this coming November or December.

The French carrier announcement is one of the few official updates from a company that confirmed a range of time of when the update will be released. Samsung itself said that it will rollout Android 4.3 to Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S3 by year’s end, especially so that the devices will be able to offer support for the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy Gear.

According to tech blog Android SAS, it received a blurry photo of a Samsung Galaxy S3 international model running the Android 4.3 operating system on its “about device” section. The Business Times noted that it’s not the first time an Android 4.3-powered Samsung Galaxy S3 device was spotted. Last July, Temefy shared an image from its insiders at Samsung R&D India of the Galaxy S3 running the mobile OS.

Although there is no way to verify the validity of the images, according to the International Business Times, the leaks have been consistent with the news of the pending roll-out, since it has been known the Android 4.2.2 will be skipped for the 4.3 update.

Many are expecting that the rollout is intended to make the devices compatible for the recently launched smartwatch of Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy Gear. The Android 4.3 has a Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, which will allow it to connect to external accessories, like the Galaxy Gear to other compatible handsets, noted the Business Times.
