Samsung Galaxy S5 Rumors: Upcoming Flagship Said To Be Water And Dust-Resistant

Samsung is known for having a short schedule for releasing devices, and it usually makes releases faster every year. It seems that would also be the case for the new Galaxy S5. What's more interesting is that some Samsung Galaxy S5 rumors are pointing to features which are similar to an industry competitor - Sony.

According to Korean reports as previously reported by Android Critics, the new smartphone will be both waterproof and dustproof, much like most of Sony's latest handsets.

After the Galaxy S4 launch, Samsung also a announced a handful of other devices which have their specialty. The Galaxy S4 Active for instance is a IP67-certified version of the S4, and it is both waterproof and dustproof. Some reports say the unit has had some success in its target market, in spite the fact that it features inferior specs compared to the original.

In another previous report, Samsung also plans to launch a new lineup of premium phones which all have a metal body - something the Korean company has been widely criticized. However, this suppposed lineup would surely have premium rates as well.

We'll see how this premium line will coincide with the rumored water and dust-resistant Galaxy S5.
