Windows 8.1 Release Date Set At 4AM PDT Today, Users Coming From Win 8 Can Upgrade For Free

After several months of waiting, the Windows 8.1 release date is finally here. And whether you have a Windows 8-powered system or the ever-popular Windows 7, you would probably want to check out this update from Microsoft.

One of the most notable features you would want to get is the reemergence of the Start button. Microsoft has also include other cool features such as a new user interface, improved SkyDrive functionality, and a new major role for Bing as the system's default search service suite.

While Microsoft announced the release to be at 4AM Pacific Daylight Time later, TechCrunch reports that users from different parts of the globe may get the update at different time intervals. So just stay tuned and wait until your PC or laptop prompts you if you want to upgrade or not.

If you're coming from the first Windows 8 OS, the upgrade is free. However, Win7 users may get the base platform for $119.99 with the option to upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro by adding $199.99.
