Jamie Dornan The Male Kate Moss Rumored To Play Christian Grey in Fifty Shades Trilogy; Will Charlie Hunman’s Loss Be The Golden Torso Dornan’s Gain?

Jamie Dornan, the Male Kate Moss, is being considered for the role of Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy.

If all goes well, Jamie Dornan will have replaced Charlie Hunman of Sons of Anarchy who recently quit the movie.

The speculations first surfaced last night regarding Jamie Dornan's candidature for film adaptation of EL James' extensively popular 50 Shades of Grey novel. Dubbed the Golden Torso by New York Times, the Irish model was one of the two finalists selected for playing the millionaire Grey.

The Universal Pictures chose Charlie Hunman due to his greater popularity amongst the masses.

Charlie Hunman dropped out of the Fifty Shades project last week on grounds of busy schedule and commitment to Sons of Anarchy, which entered season 6 this year.

However, creative differences with the director, pressure of fan expectations and low fee ($125,000) also surfaced as possible reasons for Charlie Hunman's departure.

In an official release on Saturday, October 12, 2013 Universal Pictures announced, "The filmmakers of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey."

Jamie Dornan is rumored to be the frontrunner for the protagonist's role. He is a successful model and acted in TV shows The Fall and Once Upon a Time. He debuted in 2006 movie Marie Antoinette, starring opposite Kirsten Dunst.

His most successful gig came with Calvin Klein where he posed alongside Kate Moss and Eva Mendes. Keira Knightley's ex-boyfriend  Jamie Dornan married Amelia Warner in April this year and the couple is expecting a baby next year.

Irrespective of the reasons for Charlie's departure, association with the film brought him a lot of popularity. He made news when he was cast as Grey; he made news when he quit.

Jamie Dornan, who is looking to establish himself as an actor of repute in the film industry can gain a lot as Christian Grey, not just $125,000, which may sound paltry compared to the fact that the trilogy sold 70 million copies worldwide.
