Brad Pitt Will Not Show ’12 Years A Slave’ To His Children; ‘World War Z’ Actor Believes They’re Still Too Young To Know About The World’s Reality

Despite the predicted success of his upcoming film '12 Years A Slave', lead actor Brad Pitt firmly declares that he will not allow his children to see the film since they might be too young to comprehend its sensitive subjects.

Pitt, who has six children with Angelina Jolie, plays a carpenter in Steve McQueen's drama which revolves around slavery. Nonetheless, the 'World War Z' actor might be willing to make an exception with his 11-year-old son Maddox. In an interview with The Today Show, the actor was asked if he'd permit his eldest child to watch it: "Absolutely. Maybe my eldest I would [show it to] right now. I'd rather for the others to get a little bit older and understand the dynamics of the world a little more."

Apart from Pitt, renowned actors Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, and Chiwetel Ejiofor are included in the cast of the movie that has been inspired by Solomon Northup's autobiography.

"It's one of those few films that cuts to the base of our humanity," said the actor who is currently engaged to 'Tomb Raider' star, Jolie.

Pitt will be turning 50 on December 18 and he jokes about being too occupied to think about it: "We'll see. I'm busy right now so I haven't thought about it. So far I haven't minded a bit. So I have no complaints."
