Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date Rumors: Next-Gen Flagship Smartphone Arriving As Early As February 2014; Development Of Exynos 64-Bit Processor Already Done?

Rumors about Samsung Galaxy S5 release date continue to spread online.

Tech experts are speculating that Samsung Galaxy S5 release date may be set for an earlier schedule compared to the launch histories of former Galaxy S devices. More specifically, Samsung Galaxy S5 release date rumors suggest that the alleged new flagship smartphone will be unveiled on January, as posted on Gotta Be Mobile. And if this Samsung Galaxy S5 release date rumor pans out, it is highly likely that the latest iteration to the Galaxy S lineup will be available on the market on February.

Furthermore, another development seems to strengthen the rumors about Samsung Galaxy S5 release date being already imminent. According to Design & Trend, citing Korean reports, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer has already finished creating its very first 64-bit Exynos chipset.

Reportedly, the 64-bit Exynos processor is made for the Samsung Galaxy S5 and rumors suggest that this chipset will be able to use a 14nm process. Furthermore, citing PhanAndroid, the latest Samsung CPU will "be based on ARM's big.LITTLE platform (like the Exynos 5 octa) and use Cortex-A53 and Cortex-A57 cores to push all cores simultaenously, which will help reduce battery power consumption."

Moreover, a number of reports about the potential Samsung Galaxy S5 release date and specs are saying that the upcoming smartphone could be water-proof and dustproof. According to sources of ET News, the Galaxy S5 will be similar to Galaxy S4 Active, which was launched soon after the regular Galaxy S4 model.

There are also Samsung Galaxy S5 release date and specs rumors pointing to a different casing, as instead of the shiny polyarbonate plastic body, the forthcoming smartphone will have a uni-body metal design.

And for those hoping that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will also have fingerprint scanning technology, which was first introduced by Apple through its iPhone 5S; unfortunately, it won't be having one, as posted on Korea Herald.

Expect more Samsung Galaxy S5 release date rumors to emerge as the South Korean tech company is yet to announce official details of the smartphone.
