When paparazzi caught Kristen Stewart cheating with her then Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders on July 2012, everyone was aghast specially the supporters of "Twilight" where Kristen and her then boyfriend Robert Pattinson met - well not Liberty Ross, Sanders wife.

Ross revealed through her interview with the latest issue of Vanity Fair, 20 hours prior to the photos of his then husband emerged for the world to see Sanders already confessed about it.

The model/actress opened up about the cheating scandal that ruined her marriage and tainted Kristen Stewart's reputation.

"It was horrible," she tells Vanity Fair. "It was really the worst, really the worst."

Stewart was supposed to be in a relationship with her "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson when the scandal came to light, she then admit to the "indiscretion" and issued a public apology.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," Kristen's seemingly sincere statement via People. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

Sanders on the other hand had expressed his remorse publicly as well.

"I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," the director tells People. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

Liberty Ross then filed for divorce last January, but it seems like the model hasn't moved on from the unbelievable experience she had went through.

"I have no words to describe what we went through," she says. "But I think, for me, something always has to completely die for there to be a rebirth. And, for me, I feel like I'm going through a rebirth."

Liberty together with her two children with Sanders stayed with a friend where they can be away from the media frenzy.

"I was able to be there completely secluded," Ross recalss. "I just visualized (being) this sort of Masai warrior. I was just going to stand very still and very strong, and just let it all roll past me. I tried to keep as far away from it as I could and to understand that this is my family and it's the most precious thing to me."

In the end, she decided to end her marriage with Sanders, saying that "real connection" is something they don't share anymore.

"We were together for 16 years, and that in itself is really beautiful. And we've created two exceptional lives together," the model added."
