Android 4.4 Kit Kat May Allow Multi-Display Support, Work With Sensors And Vectors For Smartwatch Compatibility, Says Report

In case you haven't heard yet, the Nexus 5 has finally been announced by Google and will begin selling tomorrow, November 1 starting at $349 for the 16GB version in the US. Moreover, the release also means that Android 4.4 Kit Kat has finally landed.

Just to show the love for Android and Google's Nexus line, BGR reports that as of this writing, the black 16GB version of the phone has already sold out on pre-orders. Google Play website indicates "We are out of inventory. Please check back soon."

As for Android 4.4 KitKat, recent reports claim that it is aimed at expanding support for multi-display features. What's good news is that this support will come to upcoming Android phones regardless of brand.

In addition, the update will also allow support for certain features such as geomagnetic rotation vectors, step detectors and counters. This could mean that Google is on its way to support wearable devices in the near future.

The report comes from reporter Amir Efrati after a leaked document was shown to him.

While all these features seem promising, let us just wait for a few hours until we can confirm these new additions to the Android platform.
