Kanye West Claims The Confederate Flag As His Own; Kim Kardashian’s Boyfriend Makes Bold Fashion Choice; Symbol of New Slaves; `Now What Are You Gonna Do?’

Kanye West, Kim Kardashian's boyfriend, has his own ideas about fashion and politics. The Yeezus singer was caught wearing a jacket designed with a Confederate flag design. The Confederate flag has long been a symbol of slavery, but Kanye is claiming it as his own, saying "it's my flag."

Kanye West didn't let Kim Kardashian dress him. He is claiming the slavery symbol for himself the way African American artists claimed the "N-word" to halt racism in its tracks before it could be used on the attack.

The Confederate flag is a symbol of racism, so when Kanye West was spotted wearing the Confederate flag jacket, People magazine reported that he got some heavy criticism. Kanye has been getting a lot of flak for the merchandise for his current "Yeezus" concert tour. Too bad he wasn't wearing flak jacket.

Kanye West explained why he is using the racist symbol, the flag of the Southern confederacy during the Civil War, in an interview with Los Angeles radio station 97.1 AMP. Kanye West said he's selling the flag as part of the Yeezus merchandise because, "You know, the Confederate flag represented slavery in a way - that's my abstract take on what I know about it. So I made the song 'New Slaves.' So I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag. It's my flag. Now what are you going to do?"
