Tom Cruise And Nicole Kidman Divorce: ‘Grace Of Monaco’ Actress Finally Reveals What Went Wrong With Their Marriage

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's marriage lasted for 11 years and many were curious why it fell apart. Since their divorce, Cruise and Kidman opted to stay quiet and have their respect for each other intact.

However, in an interview with Vanity Fair for its December issue, the Australian beauty, who is now happily married with Keith Urban, breaks her silence and reveals why it did not work out with the 'Top Gun' actor.

"I was so young and you know, with no disrespect to what I had with Tom, I've met my great love now. And I really did not know if that was going to happen," says Kidman. She believes that marrying at a young age did not do wonders for her marriage with Cruise. When they tied the knot, she was 23 whereas her ex-husband was 28.

She similarly recalls why she held on for too long: "I wanted it, but I didn't want it for a while, because I didn't want to jump from one relationship to another. I had a lot of time alone, which was really, really good, because I was a child, really, when I got married. And I needed to grow up.

While many speculated that the pressures of Hollywood took its toll on their marriage, the 'Grace of Monaco' star explains that fame can be overpowered by a couple's determination to stay focused on each other:  "There is something about that sort of existence that, if you really focus on each other and you're in that bubble, it's very intoxicating, because it's just the two of you. And there is only one other person that's going through it."

For the blonde beauty, fame can even bring a couple closer. She similarly commended one of Hollywood's power couple who will reportedly get married soon:  "So it brings you very close, and it's deeply romantic. I'm sure Brad and Angelina have that because there's nobody else that understands it except that person who's sleeping right next to you."

While she believes that it's possible for fame to not affect a relationship, she chose to step away from the limelight and quietly live with her husband in Nashville.

"I have stepped away from the fame part of it. I didn't find what I was looking for in fame," says Kidman.

The actress has no regrets for her marriage with Cruise paved way for her two children whom the couple adopted - Connor and Isabella Jane.
