Samsung Galaxy S4 Update: Flagship Handset Now Has Android 4.3 Bringing With It Samsung Galaxy Gear Support And More

Samsung Galaxy S4 update now enables the device to support Samsung Galaxy Gear thanks to the availability of the official Android 4.3 update for the flagship. Owners of Samsung Galaxy S4 in U.K. will be one of the first recipients of the update, which is being rolled out gradually.

The Android 4.3 rollout for Samsung devices began in early October, but is only arriving in both the U.S. and the U.K. just now.

According to Tech Radar who has an in-office S4 model, it has already received the update, which includes a boost from version 4.2 to 4.3 of Jelly Bean and the expected support function available for Samsung Galaxy Gear.

If the updates hasn’t been pushed yet to your S4 device, Tech Radar notes that these rollouts usually takes a few days to reach every handset. With the tech website’s experience, their Samsung Galaxy S4 at hand didn’t notify them but by going through Settings >> More >> About Device >> Software Update, the Android 4.3 is waiting and available.

Samsung Galaxy S4 owners aiming to do the update should be connected to Wi-Fi to download the huge 700 MB, over-the-air (OTA) update. Aside from the huge undertaking in terms of file size, everything else is straightforward.

With the Android 4.3 update, Samsung Galaxy S4 joins Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as some of the Samsung devices that can support the Samsung Galaxy Gear. This officially enhances the appeal of the flagship wearable device now that two smartphones are able to provide support for it. Other handsets expected to give Samsung Galaxy Gear support includes Samsung Galaxy S3.

Numerous improvements can be seen in the Samsung Galaxy S4 with the Android 4.3 updates including a boost to color reproduction, better RAM management, a new internet browser and various UI updates.
