Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 Release Date, Specs: Android Powered 12.2-Inch Tablet Rumored Last Sept. Will Go To Mass Production End Of 2013, To Be Released Early 2014

Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 release date and specs is once again in the news as it is being rumored that the large consumer tablet, probably the largest tablet if it’s launched before the rumored iPad 13-inch, will be going into mass production by the end of 2013.

Samsung has adopted a film-based capacitive touch solution, largely provided by Shenzen O-film Tech for the expected Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet, according to DigiTimes. The tech website cites sources from Taiwan-based supply chain contacts familiar with the company’s plans. The report notes that the 12.2-inch tablet will go into mass production by the end of 2013.

DigiTimes reported that the 12.2-inch device maybe a range of tablets that other tech companies may soon to be emulating. It has been reported before the launch of the new iPad Air and iPad Mini 2 that Apple is planning to release a 13-inch model of their iOS 7-powered tablet.

If the rumors are true that the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 will go into mass productions, there’s a huge possibility that it will be launched on January 2014 at the Consumer Electronics Show.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 rumors began right after the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Gear in Berlin last September. The first model was identified SM-P901, with another model seen SM-P905 in AnTuTu benchmarks.

NDTV Gadgets reports that according to the AnTuTu site, the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 has a 12.2-inch display and a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels. It will also be powered with a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor together with 3GB of RAM.

Based on the benchmark results, the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 will also have 32GB inbuilt storage but no microSD support. Other specs seen were an 8MP camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. It will come with Android 4.3 out of the box, based on the recent round of rumors and speculations. There has been no news if the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 will be providing Samsung Galaxy Gear support, but it is very possible.
