The Americans Season 2 Premiere Set For February: Episode 2 Complete, Title Unveiled

As "The Americans" begins filming for season 2, a premiere month has been confirmed by FX, as well as the progress of filming.

According to Screen Rant, "The Americans" season 2 will debut in February of 2014, although a specific date has not been given.

Reportedly, "Justified" season 5 will premiere Tuesday, January 7, while "Archer" season 5 will debut January 13 alongside "Chozen." And "The Americans" season 2 will join the roster in February

"Winter has become an incredibly active time for the launch of original series for FX Networks. FXX provides us with greater scheduling flexibility and our recent deal for 'Ali G: Rezurection' created a strategic opportunity to pair it with 'Legit,' two compatible shows that will play very well together," says FX President of Program Strategy Chuck Saftler.

"This allows us the opportunity to use 'Archer' - our highest-rated comedy - as a powerful launch springboard for 'Chozen' and help us build our animation brand."

Meanwhile, filming for "The Americans" season 2 continues, and it seems episode 2 has been completed.

As fans can see from the photo by executive producer Joel Fields, the title for "The Americans" season 2 episode 2 is called "Cardinal."

As previously reported, Margo Martindale will reprise her role as Claudia in at least one episode, but it seems "The Americans" season 2 will also explore new facets of the 1980's with a new cast member.

According to Hollywood Reporter, actress Aimee Carrero will have a recurring role on "The Americans" season 2 as Chena, a Sandinista freedom fighter who "will go to any lengths to support her cause."

It seems in addition to the KGB and the American government, "The Americans" will also explore the Nicaraguan Contras in season 2.
