Users will be happy with the new lock screen which has now incorporated a camera shortcut and also allows for easy rearranging of home screens. In addition to this, the entire system will now have white/gray color schemes and fonts.

According to Phone Arena, there will be emoji support available on the stock keyboard. The People App has also received a revamp. It will now let you browse through contacts, various accounts and businesses in your locality as well even though they are not in your phone book. Threaded conversation will now be possible in the Hangouts app allowing the conversations to all rollup into your texts, IMs and MMS for a single contact.

The Google Now voice operated assistant is also one of the biggest changes consumers can expect reports Phone Arena. With just a swipe on the new home screen, Google Now can be activated and casually asked to carry out tasks. Google stated that there many more new cards in the pipeline to make the service even more useful like having local shopping locations, attractions, purchasing movie tickets using Fandango and many more.

For those who can buy a Nexus 5, they can have the 4.4 KitKat right away and after a few weeks it will roll on to the Nexus 4, 7 and 10. Other devices confirmed to be getting the mobile OS include Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC 1 Google Play edition.
