NCAA College Basketball: Kevin Ware Now “Feels Great” After Career Threatening Injury - The College Player “Waited 220 Days To Play”

Kevin Ware is now back on the hard court to play basketball 220 days after suffering a horrific injury during the 2013 NCAA Midwest Regional finals last April.

The Louisville Cardinals played an exhibition match against Pikeville where the junior player entered the third quarter and scored 6 points and collected 4 rebounds in just 10 minutes.

The player who had a severe injury made his first shot behind the three point line sparked a huge crowd ovation signaling his return in the game.

"I was a little nervous, actually," he said. "I didn't expect to get in so late in the game and me and coach really didn't talk about anything. But when he called my number, I was just ready to get in. I've been waiting for this moment for like 200 and 20 days now."

"It felt great," the basketball player said after the game who felt unsure and nervous about facing the crowd and actually playing a game.

The shooting guard wore black raps on both of his legs to support his legs said he feels like he can do anything physical again.

"Basketball-wise I feel like myself," said the 6' 2" guard. "My speed and everything, jumping-wise, feels back to normal. I feel fine."

His head coach Rick Pitino said everyone on the team and obviously the crowd felt great to see him back on the floor. His player might be taking it slow for now but believes that Ware will bring his self back in shape with the talent he has and his amazing heart and love for the game.

"He's taking it slow," Pitino said. "People want to see him on the court healthy. We want to see him flourishing."

"The bone's six inches out of his leg and all he's yelling is, 'Win the game, win the game,'" the coach relieving the tragic time his player got injured. "I've not seen that in my life...Pretty special young man."
