NBA Updates – James Harden Gets A Flop Warning; Caron Butler Makes The Latest ‘Big Balls’ Dance, Pays $15K

The celebration of ultimate manhood that is known as the "Big Balls" dance now costs a hefty $15K fine.

Despite the news of a fine meted out on Andray Blatche for doing the Big Balls dance from the bench in their win against the Miami Heat, Caron Butler of the Milawaukee Bucks had a brazen display of what seems to be the latest trend among the players.

The NBA Commissioner's Office has already warned that they consider this "an obscene gesture" and they will not tolerate it among the players. They have imposed fines as high as $25,000 dollars (for Eddie House in a nationally televised game).

Caron Butler's version was deemed laughable as the shot he hit was not crucial and the game was early in the regular season. In other words, it wasn't too "ballsy." He was promptly meted a fine of $15,000 dollars.

Other news from the league has James Harden being cited for a flop warning. Like most of the established superstars, Harden often gets the benefit of the doubt. Everytime he drives down the lane, he always expects a result. If not a basket, he wants a foul.

In this case, he was attempting a jumpshot and Portland TrailBlazer guard Wes Matthews sought to contest. A foul was called on Matthews but Harden had to jerk his head backwards, hoping to make sure he gets the call.

On the slow motion replay, it was clear that Matthews' hand did not make contact with James Harden's head. The motion was self-initiated, which is one of the criteria for calling a flop. The actual video clip of the flop can be viewed on nba.com. The league has made it a procedure to post the videos of flops being cited. This is to provide credibility to the penalty.
