Turkish Airlines Golf: Tiger Woods Hits 1-Under In The Leaderboard After Playing Bad 10 Holes Due To A Rain Delay, Can He Still Win A Major Title?

The Turkish Airlines Open first round was greeted by a game suspension after a three-hour delay due to lightning and flooding prevented most players to finish with their round.

Fifteen players finished before darkness came including current tournament leaders Ricardo Gonzalez and Thorbjorn Olesen who shot a six-under finishing with 66.

Tiger Woods continues to struggle with his consistency by only meeting the fairway on his 10th hole.

"It just gets dark so quickly and it's like someone just turned off the light switch," said Woods. "The air now also is heavy with moisture so the ball is not going very far compared to when we were warming up on the range and early in the round."

"But towards the end we were hitting about a half a club short. I'm still working on getting a bit of the rust out of my game, but then tomorrow is going to be a long day for all of us," he said where he will finish where he left off on the 11th hole.

The champion golfer who looks at bringing his game back on the next few rounds is left with a 20-yard over the bunker chip shot which he didn't finish before retiring for the day.

"It's a tricky golf course and it helps to have played it numerous times as it is one of those courses where you get a better feel for it the more you play it," the four-time masters champion said. "However, looking back on my 10 ½ holes, I probably left a little out there and I see that 7 under par is leading at this stage, so the goal in the holes I have left in the morning is to pick up a few quick birdies."

Golf analysts predicted that with the way Tiger is bringing his game back after injuries and scandals that he can still win more major titles in the future.

"The next one that he wins is going to be the most important one of his career, and I think he will win it," Golf Channel David Feherty said. "If you look at his comeback, it's been very gradual."
