NBA Fights 2013 - Vince Carter Ejected From Game After Throwing Elbow; Dennis Schroder Suspended For DeMarcus Cousins Low Blow

NBA Thursday was packed by left and right calls of suspensions and ejections starting with Vince Carter’s nasty elbow swinging to Oklahoma Thunder’s Steven Adams.

OKC’s Steven Adams was positioning his self for the rebound where he caught Carter’s head. The 6-1 swingman reacted by throwing his elbow to Adam’s head just right in front of a referee.

The former dunk champion was ejected in the game and will be fined $2000 as consequence for his inappropriate actions.

Vince Carter elbowed Steven Adams:

The veteran player later on apologized for what he did saying what he did to retaliate was just in the heat of the game.

“I just want to apologize to the fans of both sides,” the Mavs veteran said. “There’s no need for it. They’re trying to clean up the game and make it fun for fans to watch. It was one of those things where I got caught in the moment and reacted to a reaction that was done to you. My intentions have never been that way. It’s just one of those things.”

On the other hand, while the Atlanta Hawks went pass the Sacramento Kings with a 105-100 win, another incident occurred when DeMarcus Cousins was given a low blow by Hawks guard Dennis Schroder.

DeMarcus was setting a screen for point guard Isiah Thomas when Schroder charged straight to his screen extending his arms and gives the uncalled for shot to the Kings big man’s groin.

"I took a cheap shot to my lower area, and they blew it off," Cousins told Sacramento local papers. "I guess because it was me."

Meanwhile, in the matchup of the Clippers and Heat, Mario Chalmers raised his forearm to hit Blake Griffin’s throat following another screen play.

Chalmers was called with a personal foul which was followed by two penalty free throws from the Clippers forward.

The league gave no sanctions and no reviews were made for this particular play yet.
