Prince William And Catherine Middleton Were Commuters For A Day; Royal Couple Rode Double-Decker Bus And Toured Tube Station

The royal couple again proves their determination to show that they can similarly live or specifically commute as normal people. In honor of London's Poppy Day last November 7, both Prince William and Duchess Catherine Middleton rode a double-decker bus. What followed was a tour of the subway station.

They participated the event of Royal British Legion, Poppy Appeal, which aspires to raise £1 million. The money will then be extended to charities that help British military forces.

After riding the traditional vehicle for five minutes, the couple went to the High Street Kensignton subway station where they mingled with several local volunteers selling the poppies.  They likewise did not waste time in greeting the Royal British legion staff and the onlookers.

The duchess similarly talked to a 58-year-old mother still grieving for the loss of his son who was killed by an explosive device during a military operation in Afghanistan in 2011. The tearful mother said how his son would've loved the fundraising concept: "He loved a party. He would have thought this bus was a really good idea. He was also a big fan of the Royal Family, especially after collecting his gong from the Queen. He became an expert then."

Rather than preparing a new outfit for the charity event, the Duchess of Cambridge opted to wear a red LK Bennett overcoat which she donned two years ago during a trip to Denmark.

Spectators cannot help but wonder about the absence of the newly-christened Prince George. When veteran actress Barbara Windsor asked the couple about their baby, the duchess said that he was half-asleep. "He's behaving himself this morning," Prince William jokingly added.

Recently, the Duchess of Cambridge also showed her down-to-earth side by playing volleyball with the athlete students of a charity. Even if she was wearing heels, she had no qualms playing the sport in a fair manner.
