iMac 2013 release date, reviews: The newly launched Apple desktop, now available in most retailers and the Apple store has centerpiece updates focused on the its processor, primarily the new Haswell processors it now has. It also has faster wi-fi and higher end graphics, which according to analyst has effectively maxed out the specs of the machine.

“iMac continues to be the example that proves how beautiful, fast and fun a desktop computer can be,” Apple’s marketing SVP Phil Schiller said in a press release.

According to the Business Times, the new iMacs looks identical to the 2012 iMacs but still with an updated under-the-hood which includes a faster processing and graphics chip. The new iMacs with the new Intel quad-core chips also have faster wi-fi with 801.11 ac, 8GB of RAM and 1 TB hard drive.

The 21.5-inch models are priced at $1,299 for 2.7 GHz quad-core i5 processor and Intel Iris Pro graphics, while it’s slightly more expense $1,499 versions has 2.9 GHz quad-core i5 processor and NVIDI GeForce GT 705M, 1 GB video memory.

Price for the 27-inch models starts at $1,799, with the model having 3.2 GHz quad-core i5 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M and 1 GB video memory. It’s higher-end counterpart with a price tag of $1,999 lends the user a 2GB video memory with the same NVIDI processor but with a 3.4 GHz quad-core i5 processor.

Apple can also offer build-to-order specifications for the new iMacs. The iMac is the latest product line of Apple to have the Haswell processors, which is also found in the new set of MacBook Pros.
