Davis helped New Orleans get a victory Wednesday over the Memphis Grizzlies. The Pelicans only allowed 84 points in the victory.

"We came out with a lot of defensive intensity, moving the ball, sharing the ball pretty well, and we got open shots," Davis, averaging team highs of 21.2 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 2.2 steals, told ESPN after the game. "When we play like that, it is tough for us to get beat.

It was with 1.3 seconds remaining to seal a 99-98 win in Houston over former Laker Dwight Howard and the Rockets that Steve Blake stole the ball and hoisted the game-winning three-pointer.

"This is huge mainly because we've struggled our last two away games," Blake, referring to the Lakers' losses by a combined 50 points at Golden State and Dallas told ESPN."We've gotten blown out and for us to come back and play the way we did, I think it says a lot about the character of our team."

The Pelicans will be missing Ryan Anderson, who hasn't played this season yet while L.A. is expected to be without Steve Nash because of games on back-to-back nights.
