Hunger Games Theme Park Is Possibly Going To Happen – ‘We’re Excited About Those Opportunities And We’re Pursuing Them,’ Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer Claims

The Hunger Games movie franchise is one of the most successful movie franchises in the industry today, what better way to prove it is a possible Hunger Games Theme Park is said to be in the works as Lionsgate is said to be talking about a possible theme parks based on the popular series, Variety reports.

"We have been approached in two different territories about potential theme park opportunities, which gives you a sense of the cultural impact of this franchise," Jon Feltheimer, Lionsgate CEO told analysts during a conference call.

"We're excited about those opportunities and we're pursuing them," he added.

In all probability, the possible Hunger Games theme park will not engage into any fights to death as compared to the movie franchise.

In addition, Lionsgate reportedly said that it doing everything it can to look into possible opportunities to reinforce merchandising of the film, it has been closing transactions with Subway to promote the release of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" this month. It has also been reported that the company closed a partnership with Net-a-Porter, an online fashion retailer, one which will provide ready-to-wear garments inspired by the movie labeled as "Capitol Couture."

The main cast, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth together with other co-actors will be leaving the set of the third and fourth sequel in the franchise - Mockingjay: Part 1 and Mockingjay: Part 2 - to head to Europe for the promotion of the Catching Fire release which is due November 22.

"They will ... take a break to promote our worldwide rollout of Catching Fire premieres, beginning in London this coming Monday," CEO Jon Feltheimer revealed.

The European promotion will continue in Berlin, Madrid, Paris and Rome, before the movie's red carpet premiere in Los Angeles on November 18.

The said promotion is said to aim a solid audience wanting the Hunger Games sequel before the film is released.

"We are confident that we have positioned Catching Fire as a global phenomenon to continue the growth of the franchise," he reiterated.

"We've been monitoring tracking around the globe really, and in addition to the very strong tracking domestically, we're seeing the same sort of results in the U.K., Germany, and our Italian distributor is very excited about what's going on there," he added during the conference call.
