Nexus 5 release date, price: The Nexus 5, Google’s newest flagship handset and the official successor of the Nexus 4, will soon be released on T-Mobile this coming November 20 for a total cost of $450, according to the International Business Times.
After a leak document showing the release date of the highly-anticipated handset from Google and LG, the U.S. carrier confirmed the availability of the Nexus 5 as well as the price structure and offering for it.
The specs of Nexus 5 include having Android 4.4 KitKat, the latest mobile OS by Google, out of the box and a 4.95-inch 1080p display. It will support LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 and will have a next-gen WiFi of 802.11ac. Nexus 5 will have NFC and inductive charging.
Based on T-Mobile’s installment plan, the 16GB version of the Nexus 5 will be available for an initial cost of $41.99 and will be followed by 24 equal monthly payments of $17, ultimately costing customers $450, according to the International Business Times.
Nexus 5 is available at Google Play for $349.99 unlocked for the 16GB model and $399.99 for the 32GB variant.
Sprint already has the Nexus 5 available for $50 on a 2-year contract, with the regular price for the handset at $450.
According to reports, Google is not providing any subsidy for the device but carriers pay full retail price when purchasing the phone from the company’s manufacturer of choice, LG.
