Miss Universe 2013 Winner Is Venezuela! Venezuelan President Feels Triumphant As Country Takes Home Its Seventh Miss Universe Title

Beauty delegates across the globe battled for the coveted crown in Russia but in the end, only one was proclaimed the Miss Universe 2013: Miss Venezuela.

The most beautiful woman in the universe is none other than 25-year-old Gabriela Isler who took home Venezuela's seventh Miss Universe title. Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo's wish finally came true as she passed the crown to the Maracay-born beauty. Apart from working for the Venezuelan television industry, Isler is likewise a proficient flamenco dancer.

Eighty-seven contestants were initially present for the annual beauty contest but only 16 were selected to proceed with the pageant proper: Costa Rica, Ukraine, China, Ecuador, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Spain, the United States, Nicaragua, Switzerland, India, Brazil and the Philippines.

Six were immediately eliminated. Spain, Philippines, United Kingdom, India, Brazil, United States, Ukraine, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Dominican Republic completed the top 10. Only five remained specifically Ecuador, Brazil, Spain, Venezuela, and the Philippines.

The chosen five were asked several questions by music icon and judge Steven Tyler. Miss Venezuela was asked about her fear and how she planned to overcome it.

"We should overcome all our fears and this in turn would make us stronger. As soon as we overcome our fears, we can face any challenge," responded the proclaimed winner.

After the question-and-answer portion, Tyler rendered his performance of "Dream On". Culpo then appeared on stage to express her gratefulness for the people who helped her during her reign specifically business magnate Donald Trump and her family.

The announcement quickly followed wherein Ms. Brazil Jakelyne Oliveira nabbed the fourth runner-up spot. Ms. Philippines Ariella Arida went home with the third runner-up spot while Ms. Ecuador Constanza Baez took the second runner-up. Ms. Spain Patricia Rodrigues was hailed as the first runner-up and finally, Ms. Venezuela was named as Miss Universe 2013. The crown even fell off Isler's head but the clearly excited damsel merely laughed.

Nicolas Maduro, Venezuela's president, immediately posted his congratulatory message on Twitter. He called Isler's victory as the country's "triumph". Venezuela last won the title in 2009 courtesy of Stefania Fernandez.

The panel of judges consisted of Steven Tyler, Tara Lipinski, Anne V, Carol Alth, Philiph Kirov, and Farouk Shami. The glitzy affair was hosted by Thomas Roberts and former Spice Girl, Mel B.
