A Bahamas plane crash killed four people yesterday.

Bahamas police say 4 people are believed to have been killed in the small plane crash.

According to the Bahamas police, a small plane crashed into the sea yesterday, killing all four people aboard. The Bahamas police believe that all of the people on board were probably Americans.

Police in the archipelago off of the east coast of Florida are investigating the crash of a small plane off the Bahamas' northernmost island. Area police say that all four people on board are believed to be U.S. citizens.

According to Police Superintendent Stephen Dean, the single-engine plane crashed in waters a few miles off Grand Bahama island.

Stephen Dean said "All are believed to be Americans. It is thought they were on some kind of sightseeing tour."

According to the assistant police commissioner for Grand Bahama, Emrick Seymour, the plane was a Cirrus 22 model. It crashed just minutes after it took off from the Grand Bahama's international airport. According to the police report, the pilot of the small craft radioed that the plane was "experiencing some engine problems."

According to a statement from the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the aircraft is believed to have been destroyed in the crash.

According to Bahamian authorities, there is no information yet about the identities of the victims. Emrick Seymour said police were "right in the middle of the investigation."
