List Of Veteran's Day 2013 Events In New York, Washington, Virginia, Oklahoma, And More!

Veteran's Day is here, and a host of 2013 events are happening all over the country today, including New York, Washington, Virginia, and Oklahoma.

Firstly, President Barack Obama plans to make an appearance at the annual wreath-laying ceremony at the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

"Thank you to that greatest generation who fought island by island across the Pacific, and freed millions from fascism in Europe. Thank you to the heroes who risked everything through the bitter cold of Korea and the stifling heat of Vietnam. And thank you to all the heroes who have served since, most recently our 9/11 Generation of veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan," says Obama according to USA Today.

In Washington DC, the District of Columbia will honor two of the original Tuskegee Airmen with the Congressional Gold Medal for Veteran's Day, according to ABC.

The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African-American pilots during World War II.

Meanwhile, New York will celebrate Veteran's Day 2013 with a host of events encapsulated around the Veteran's Day Parade.

Reportedly, the U.S. military's first female four-star general will be a grand marshal at the Parade. A commemorative wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the Eternal Light Monument in Madison Square Park.

And in Oklahoma, the 2013 Veteran's Day will be celebrated by Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin and a former prisoner of war, dedicated to Vietnam veterans.
