Android 4.4 KitKat release date: The newest mobile OS by Google comes with it new features, many of which will be available even for phones with less than 1 GB RAM, fueling speculations that the new software update is designed for lower-end mobile devices.

Some of the new features that comes with the latest software update include an Advanced Photo Editor, better visuals in the display and availability of cloud printing.

The new Android 4.4 KitKat has an advanced photo-editing suite that Google has optimized for use on both smartphones and tablets. According to Know Your Mobile, with the new KitKat Photo Editor, you can apply predefined looks, alter geometry, saturation and applied filters - all while being non-destructive. It means that whatever you do to the image, you can revert back to the original one.

With the new Photo Editor, the user can also export an image from photo editor in different sizes and file formats. According to Google, the Photo Editor is now shipping inside ASOP.

Better Visuals for applications and games is now with the Android 4.4 and there are no more notifications bar and no more battery icon to obstruct the full-screen view. Android’s UI is now hidden whenever a user is interacting with content, giving you an improve engagement with the content.

“To make sure that users always have easy, consistent access to system UI from full-screen immersive mode, Android 4.4 supports a new gesture — in immersive mode, an edge swipe from the top or bottom of the screen now reveals the system UI,” Google noted, according to Know Your Mobile.
Google Cloud Print is now available for Android 4.4-powered handset and/or tablet. The tech giant has opened up the APIs to developers, support from big name apps can be expected with Google Play can be expected soon.
