Samsung Galaxy S4 Update: Flagship’s Blue Version Coming To Best Buy On Exclusive Contract, Will Be Available This Thursday

Samsung Galaxy S4 update: The flagship handset of the South Korean tech giant is not just having an official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update that will give it new features and make the wearable gadget Samsung Galaxy Gear an official companion for the device, but it’s also getting a new color.

Mashable reports that Big Blue retailer Best Buy will have the blue version of the flagship handset available on November 14, Thursday. The retail giant will be offering it exclusively.

According to Mashable, the South Korean tech giant announced last summer that it would add more color options for the Galaxy S4. It was originally served only in black and white or Black Mist and White Frost, respectively. The new set of Samsung Galaxy S4’s - Blue Arctic, Red Aurora, Pink Twilight, Purple Mirage and Brown Autumn - all took time to arrive in the U.S.

Carriers like AT&T and Verizon have offered the phone in red and Sprint offers the S4 in purple. After the iPhone 5S was launched, Samsung announced the gold version of the S4.

What is still unknown, however, is if the new Samsung Galaxy S4 will have Android 4.3 out of the box. The device only recently received an upgrade of the Android OS. It would be a plus for the newest colors of Samsung in the market to have the new Android, however, as it also automatically ensures that it gives support to Samsung Galaxy Gear.

Mashable noted that the exclusive contract Best Buy has with the Galaxy S4 is beyond coincidence. Both the retail giant and mobile device leader has been forging stronger partnerships as of late. Samsung launched its Samsung Experience Shops, store-within-a-store concept in several Best Buy locations earlier this year.

Though the new model of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is being launched after the announcement of the Android 4.4 KitKat, the successor of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, it’s unknown if the new models will have the latest mobile OS.
