Celine Dion Death News Is Untrue! 'To Love You More' Singer Upset That She's The Latest Victim Of Celebrity Death Hoax

Fans of legendary singer Celine Dion panicked last November 9 when news about her death spread like wildfire on several social networking sites specifically Facebook. 

Many thought that the news was indeed true. After being victimized by a celebrity death hoax, the 'My Heart Will Go On' singer understandably felt anger. 

The news started to circulate on Facebook using an app which makes use of logos from famous and credible news providers. One story mentioned that Dion died in a car crash whereas other stories claim that a plane crash took her life away.

After spreading on Facebook, the news quickly escalated into other social networking sites. On Twitter, fans were panicking while searching for information that would prove the veracity of the death claim. 

Thew news likewise reached the 45-year-old singer who was so upset upon finding out: "Sometimes it's freaky because I have to call my family about it. I was celebrating the birthday of my twins in Montreal and I was getting these phone calls saying there was stuff on Facebook that I was dead." 

For the singer, nothing's wrong with having fun using social media tools but it's unfair if her family becomes worried because of the fake news.

Throughout the years, fake celebrity death news have been constantly appearing. The creators of such type of news merely wanted to test how the public would react if their favorite celebrity would die. One of the most famous victims of fake celebrity death news is action star Jackie Chan.
