Tropical Storm Haiyan Philippines Update: Relief Operations Face Hurdles As Most Town Inaccesible; Red Cross Van Mobbed By Desperate Survivors

The Philippine government had deployed a hundred soliders to Tacloban, the city most badly hit by Haiyan.

Red Cross Philippines experienced an unexpected mishap. As if to add insult to injury, Red Cross' van has been mobbed by survivors desperate for help.

The local government had reported that roughly 9.7 million have been affected in all 41 provinces in the Visayas region. NASA has declared that Typhoon Haiyan is by far the most destructive storm ever in history.It even started to monitor the storm back then.

President Aquino confirmed that out of all the provinces affected, Leyte and Samar was by far the worst to suffer loss in livelihood and lives. The government now has the power to control prices of basic commodites and service, and ensures that they will pull all strings to put a ceiling on prices, so that merchants won't take advantage of the situation by increasing rates.

Other countries gives overwhelming help, support, and donations.

The Philippines has the biggest number of Ex-Patriates worldwide, an estimated 700,000 Filipinos were currently based in the United Arab of Emirates. The UAE Emirati have pledged to donate 10 million USD to assist on the relief operations for survivors.

Not to be left out, Saudi Arabia through Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz had pledged 100,000 USD worth of Aid. Nearby and Fellow Middle Eastern country, Israel had already sent rescue missions to foster medical care.

In the middle it is estimated that close to 2 million Filipinos contribute to entire working population. It does have a fair share of drawbacks. Filipinos have also been infamous for illegal entry, over staying, and being elusive of immigration officers. The ordeals Filipinos have to face does not end there. Although most were legitimate workers, it does not mean they are spared of labor issues. Most of Filipino overseas workers face unspeakable work conditions such as the scorching temperatures and constant complaint by locals of being prioritized over employment.
